  • How to Apply a Vinyl Wall Sticker

    1. Prepare the Surface

    • Clean the wall: Wipe the area with a damp, lint-free cloth to remove dust and dirt. Avoid using harsh cleaners like Windex®, as residues can affect adhesion.

    • Ensure dryness: Make sure the wall is completely dry before application.40 Visuals+1Pottery Barn Kids+1

    2. Position the Decal

    • Dry fit: Without removing the backing, place the decal on the wall to determine the desired position.

    • Use hinge tape: Apply masking tape along the top edge to create a hinge, allowing you to lift and lower the decal for positioning.

    3. Apply the Decal

    • Peel backing: Carefully peel the backing paper away from the decal, exposing the adhesive side.

    • Smooth the decal: Starting from the center, use a squeegee or a credit card wrapped in a soft cloth to press the decal onto the wall, moving outward to eliminate air bubbles.

    4. Remove Transfer Tape

    • Peel slowly: Gently peel the transfer tape away at a 45-degree angle, ensuring the decal remains adhered to the wall.

    Tips:

    • Wait after painting: If the wall was recently painted, allow at least two weeks for the paint to cure before applying the decal.
